Scouting new prospects in Lead Scout is as easy as just firmly tapping on the map. But let's walk through a scenario to help you visualize just exactly how to get started!
Here's a short video walkthrough of the app, but be sure to skim through the full walkthrough below to get step by step instructions!
How to Add Your First Prospect to the Map
Imagine you've just run an appointment in a neighborhood. That would be a great time to add a prospect to your Lead Scout app.
Step 1: Open the Lead Scout App
You've got your trusty Lead Scout app ready to go on your smartphone. After a productive appointment, you can see that some other homes in the neighborhood are in need of your services too. Open your app and login.
Step 2: Navigate to your current location
Once you're logged in, you'll be greeted by the map view. This is where you will visualize and efficiently manage your leads for door knocking. Find your current location on the map by pressing the "location" icon in the upper right of the map.
Step 3: Add a New Prospect
Imagine you see a home across the street that needs your services. Now add this home to your map, simply press firmly on the home on the map. As you do this, a marker will appear, and a prospect card will pop up.
Take a peek at the Demographic Data to prepare for the next step. Here, you can view information like:
Home occupancy status (e.g. Owner-Occupied)
Age of the home (e.g. 15 years old)
Credit rating (e.g. 780-820)
Length of residence (e.g. 10 years)
Net worth (e.g. $400k-$600k)
Note: Home Data is currently in beta and only available upon request. Please contact support to request home data be added to your account.
Step 4: Knock the door and leave a flyer
You'll generate more leads with Lead Scout if you talk to the homeowner. Knock the door, let them know you were just next door, and leave a flyer with them (or at their door if they're not home). More scouting tips available here.
If you're just using Lead Scout for data capture, instead of door knocking, feel free to skip this step.
Step 5: Fill in Prospect Details
On the prospect card, you'll find fields to enter details about this home. Let's pretend that you had a short conversation with the homeowner, Cathy Martins, as an example, and got a bit of her information because she was interested in contacting you later for your services:
Set a Status You set the prospect's status as "Hot Lead." This indicates you've initiated the conversation with Cathy and that she's interested in your services.
Add Tags You add relevant tags about the home (e.g. "Roof Hail Damage" and "State Farm Insurance") to categorize this prospect effectively.
Add Contact Information You record Cathy's phone number, email address, and full name to have a complete record.
Add a Note Leave a custom note that will be visible by you and the rest of your team like "Interested in roof repair, willing to schedule an estimate."
All of this information gets saved instantly to your map and your account. It's now all officially part of your prospect database and soon your map will look like this:
Step 5: Rinse & repeat!
Congratulations! You've successfully added your first prospect to the map in Lead Scout. As you continue tracking prospects in this neighborhood and beyond, you can use this tool to efficiently manage your prospects, track your door knocking, collaborate with your team, and stay organized.
