When you spot a home that could use your services, use Lead Scout to save that address for later. It's as simple as that! Want to dive deeper? Here are a few more detailed strategies you can use for knowing when to scout a home:

Homes you want to save for later

You're probably always driving past and noticing homes that need your services. Well save them in your app.

Neighbors around appointments and jobsites

Knock the immediate doors around every appointment or jobsite. Because one neighbor trusts you, the other neighbors are likely to trust you too. It's just how people think.

Even if their home clearly doesn't need your services, you can be their "friendly neighborhood contractor" who is kindly telling them you'll be active in the neighborhood, which builds a positive brand perception and makes them more likely to send you referrals in the future.

And furthermore, you can ask every single neighbor for referrals - do they know anyone who needs your services? Leave a card just in case!

Any home you inspect or have an appointment at

Record any home you inspect or appointment you run in the Lead Scout app for future reference!

Homes that have the right demographics

Use the Lead Scout demographics to scout homes that are of a certain age, are in specific income brackets, or have specific credit scores.

Note: Home Data is currently in beta and only available upon request. Please contact support to request home data be added to your account.

Homes that clearly have issues

Use the app to save notes about homes that clearly have issues (e.g. like hail damage on the roof).

Homes that DON'T have clear issues

It may seem counterintuitive, but don't be afraid to scout homes that don't have clear issues. Sometimes a closer inspection is needed. You can also often get homes onto a maintenance plan even if they don't need full replacement services.

When should I NOT scout a home?

Don't knock doors that already have a yard sign or have no soliciting signs. You're better than that.
